    Our Story

    Co-founders Kay and Brian first met in 2010 at an HR Leadership Roundtable in a chocolatier and wine shop in Austin, TX. It was their mutual love for a good red that broke the ice. As they started to talk, they quickly discovered their common sensibilities about their profession – all the things right about HR and the many things that are wrong. It was this initial conversation that spawned sensibleHR in 2021.

    Kay and Brian are cut from the same cloth when it comes to their approach to HR. They adhere to a business-first philosophy, while keenly understanding that a business cannot thrive without people. Their Texas roots have spurred their common sense based, no-bullshit styles. Anyone that has worked with either of them will tell you they call it like they see it and when it comes to feedback they don’t hesitate to deliver the sting if it’s needed.  

    They share and instill with sensibleHR’s bench the sensibilities that underpin their no BS approach ensuring that no matter who you work with in their organization you can rest assured you are getting the same no nonsense support you deserve. It is these shared views and sensibilities, along with red wine and dark chocolate, that inspired sensibleHR then and continues to inspire the team today.
